|
|
| Hi there, I got a roadie rock box pro upgrade kit coming in the mail for my ION drum rocker set. Now ive been doing a bit of google research and something I found out was you cannot change midi channels for the ion drums with the roadie drum module (DD-502 MarkII). But the person who said this also said you may be able to change the channels through the computer with a midi 2 usb cable.. Can anyone tell me how I can do this? I have the midi to usb cable |

Kit #3 on the DD-502 module can be used with the GH:WT module. You'll have to recable some of the triggers, but it can work. I forget exactly which plug triggers which color, but it should be easy enough to figure out by setting the brain to Kit #3 and taking RB into Freestyle Mode. _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Ah here it is, and it looks the same as what offset just posted:
Set the DD502 to KIT #3, and the following plugs will trigger the following colors:
Snare - Red
Tom 1 - Blue
Tom 2 - Green
HH - Yellow
Crash - Orange _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Anonymous.

I don't mean to spam the forum with this, but if your computer is a Mac, I wrote a plugin for MidiPipe that does handle the mapping (transforming the MIDI notes). You can also do all kinds of monkeying around with the MIDI using Midi pipe (changing channels, values, etc). But if your sensitivity is so low that it isn't sending a midi note at all, there is no software that'll help you out.
have a look at this thread about using the MidiPipe plugin.

For the PC there is a program called Midi-OX that has similar capabilities, but you are on your own there. |

The correct MIDI channel is 10. Yes you can use the GH:WT drum set as a link between your e-drum and Rock Band. In fact, check out the stickies on this forum, you should find an entire thread devoted to modding the control unit of your GH:WT drums into a drum rack mountable box, as well as the entire MIDI chart for each drum. |

Well, yeah. That's exactly what all of the above replies are talking about, since that's the same question you asked in the original post. " _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Anonymous.

Yes, just about any e-drum brain in existence can do that. There are very few that cannot, like the DD-502 and the Yamaha DTXplorer. But any Roland brain can. _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Anonymous.
