i've recently got a 2nd hand DTXpress II (my first foray into electronic drums) and i guess its my newbieness but i cant figure out how to assign MIDI notes for RB and GH.
i've read the manual and tbh i think its confused me even more! can someone with a DTXpress brain post a step by step guide on how to assign them please? |

The manual tells you everything you need to know.
Just build you a custom kit out of one of the blank ones at the end of the kits once you scroll through (like on mine it's kit #49 and #50). I have kit #49 setup so you don't have to hold the HH pedal down for closed HH (yellow). On kit #50 I have it setup so that you hold the HH pedal down for closed HH (yellow) and when you lift the HH pedal it plays open HH is mapped to blue for a more realistic playing experience.
If you still need some help, I can walk you through it when I'm at home in front of the module.

i made an attempt at setting it to the RB settings but for some reason when setting what i think was HHC to what i assume was midi note #46 and assigned a hihat closed sound. it played alright on the brain, until i pressed "save" at which point it reverted to a tom sound?
when connected to the ghwt kit, in RB2's freestyle mode with sounds coming out of the tv, my yellow pad plays a hihat sound ingame and the my hihat plays a tom sound! but with headphones plugged into the yamaha, it plays tom sounds on both hihat/yellow pad..
am i able to set it so that i have the correct midi note assigned to both tom1/HHC but have it so the "brain" plays the correct sound but still output #46 as RB wants? (that way i can turn the horrid GH sounds and use the brain for drum sounds)
oh and i think im getting cross-talk (i think its called?), when i hit the crash (pintech tc14 on aquarian springs), the tom2 indicator triggers so i need a way of making it, not do that..
so basically a step by step on how to set it up (including how to set the HHO/HHC) would be hugely appreciated, at least then i'll know i have it set up right. (i'd like it set up so pedal down plays a HHC sound) |
