I did a test on these today and the results are very exciting.
I used the Mad Catz XBOX Portable Drums on an XBOX Pro. All Drums and Cymbals were tested using a 1/4 Stereo Cable and 1/4 Stereo to 1/8 Mono Adaptor.
Everything was tested in the RockBand 2 Freestyle Mode.
Roland PD-125 Mesh Snare - Works great, not as sensitive as when run through the TD-12 but it still works great. Rim and Head Hits Registered.
Roland PD-85 Mesh Pad - Works great, not as sensitive as when run through the TD-12 but it still works great. Rim and Head Hits Registered.
Roland PD-8 Dual Trigger Rubber Pad - Works great, MORE sensitive than the mesh heads IMO. Great. Head Hits Registered Perfectly, Edge Shots Took Some Extra Grunt.
Roland CY14R/C - 14" Ride/Crash V-Cymbal - Works great. Edge and Bow Hits Registered.
Roland CY15-R - 15" Ride Cymbal - Works great. Edge and Bow Hits Registered.
Roland VH-11 Hi Hat - Works great but only bow hits registered, no edge hits registered.
Nothing showed signs of velocity sensitivity.
This is all very exciting. It means that anyone can build a drum set with pro drum pads without buying a drum brain, or any adaptors at all.
Now lets see some sick home made drum kits! _________________ All I am offering is the truth, nothing more... |
