Mighty cool of them to offer this.
| Quote: | ***UPDATE TO WARRANTY PROGRAM FOR DRUM PEDALS - EA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO IMPLEMENT ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2009***
Cambridge, MA - October 1, 2009 - Great news! We are now honoring warranty requests for plastic Rock Band bass drum pedals past the official 60-day limit.
To make sure that all of our customers have the best experience possible with Rock Band, between now and March 30, 2010, we will honor warranty claims on plastic Rock Band bass drum pedals without proof of purchase and without regard to when you purchased your drum pedal. The extended warranty program applies to all plastic Rock Band bass drum pedals for all game consoles, but does not apply to metal-plated bass drum pedals like those sold with Rock Band 2 Special Edition. This offer is limited to one drum pedal warranty claim per customer and to customers within the United States. |
Dig out those broken pedals and get one replaced courtesy of EA and HMX.

Awesome - that is cool of them. I'm not sure I'll ever use the pedal again on a drum kit, but I'll have mine replaced and use it for a guitar overdrive pedal for guests. _________________ Proudly anti-1337-speak, and anti-emoticon. |

| This is very cool of them. I just recently broke my RB1 pedal and had to get a replacement. It'll be nice to have a spare or use the new one that I bought for an overdrive pedal. |

I chuckled when I saw this, warranty information on a site that "voids warranties".
Useful information, though. |

Isn't it Ironic? And isn't it Super Ironic that Ironic came available for DLC right about now? :chuckle: _________________ Proudly anti-1337-speak, and anti-emoticon. |

Has anyone requested a warranty replacement? Do you have to send in your old pedal? I have the pieces stored in my gaming cabinet and they have been sitting there for ages now, so definitely I'd love to get a new pedal. Though I have to admit the aluminum pedal replacement I got from Amazon is quite amazing... _________________

It's actually super super ironic when the song called ironic is ironic itself because it isn't about anything ironic.
anyway hope it comes to Europe and Aus/NZ. I need my pedal replaced. |

Yeah, I did this already. I entered it online and it didn't mention anything about the warranty being extended. I received an email with instructions on how to provide proof of 60 days. At that point I just called in and the EA agent was super helpful and said no problem. He's sending out the box and will ship the replacement as soon as mine gets there.
I asked specifically if we had to send in our old pedal and they said yes. It makes sense I guess or anyone could just request another pedal.
I find it funny that this program is going on now only for RB1 pedals. RB2 pedals aren't included in the program. RB1's been out for almost two years now. Since I don't drum much I only broke my pedal a couple of weeks ago. Because I have RB partys and other people play the drums, otherwise my pedal may have lasted forever. But for others, I'm sure that the pedal gave out in the first month of use. Just seems like strange timing to me I guess. |

So I got my new kick pedal yesterday. It's obviously an RB1 pedal. The thing is that I was supposed to get an empty box first and send mine back before they sent the new one. The shiiping sheet said that this was an empty box, but obviously someone screwed up and put the tag for mine on the wrong box. Now I don't have the shipping back informarion. Should I just wait to see if they email me, or should I go ahead and pay for shipping myself and get them the broken pedal? I'm thinking that I'll just wait and see what happens.
I'm almost afraid that if I send back my broken pedal they're going to send me another one. Well, not afraid really, but thinking that since my paperwork says to that that might happen. |

Don't just wait around. Email or call EA and ask them what to do. _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Anonymous.

| I gave them a call. They are very pleasant to deal with. They said that they're not taking returns for the pedals. He said to just use it as a doorstop or throw it away. The agent said that an empty box shouldn't have been an option with the pedal. Good. I'm glad that I called them. |
