| In your opinion since I know it will be better than mine, what would be a better choice, the Alesis Trigger or something stand-alone. I would have no problem being tied to a Laptop (Only thing I'm worried about is sound quality) to get sounds but something stand-alone would be nice but also costs a lot more cash. |

| I would totally get a used DM5 or TD-3 if I were you. You'll be glad you did. |

Is it possible to use the MadCatz portable drum kit instead of the GHWT "brain" to make a Roland TD3 e-kit work with Xbox 360? (RB/GH) (just because it's cheaper and I don't have the GHWT kit)
thanks |

Hi, Starchild!
The key thing that makes the GH:WT drum kit useful in this conversion is the MIDI port on the GH:WT drums. That is how the TD-3 is connected to the XBox. The MIDI in on the drums basically uses the TD-3 as external, MIDI-driven drum pads. Since the MadCatz doesn't have the MIDI input, it would not work in the same manner (though there are other methods, that are outside the scope of this thread.)
You might be able to find a cheap (even broken) GH:WT drum set on Craigslist. Alternatively, you can always buy a completed box from Doc. |

| Can I use the original bass pedal that came with my Ion kit as a HH pedal with the GHWT midi box and a DM5? Thanks. |

| The ION pedal should work in the FOOTSWITCH input of your DM5, yes. |

Hi guys. Having a bit of a problem connecting this E-Drum (SD7PK) to RB. I canabalised a GHWT drum and made myself a medi thingie. The game dose reconize a drum with the modded GHWT controler. But now it comes to actually setting up the brain. I know their is no medi controls but voices. It boils down to the owners manual is a F-C-ING POS. Can someone walk me through this? I am not sure when I goto Local Off its switching to channel 10. Because I went through all 300 voices and nothing. Not even sure if theirs a way to switch channels. The owners manual says theirs 19 of them but damned if I can figure it out.
Basically need somone that knows this brain. ( not mine because its loud in mine, lol) Need some help is all.
Nice thing is my GF is learning how to do the real deal on the set. But still would like to slam away on the game also.
Thank you,
Xannatose |

Somebody help me with the DM5. Where exactly in the menus do I go to change my midi notes to the proper settings for gaming? Also, can I assign the same midi note to more than one trigger? i. e. can I make the floor tom and the crash cymbal both green, or will they have the same voice. Not sure if this makes sense or not. In addition, do I plug the midi cable from the ghwt box into the midi out/thru port on the DM5? Seems like that should be right, but I'm not sure. Definitely a noob with this stuff. |

I betcha Doc could figure out a way to make a combo Xbox/PS3 controller all-in-one box...
You up for the challenge Doc? |
I was thinking the same thing. That would be awesome. |
