|
|
Sorry if this question has been answered, but I seem to have found slightly conflicting information on the internet about this, so I thought I'd try to get a definitive answer.
I've got a Yamaha DTXpress III kit which I'd like to play on my Xbox 360 with RB/GH etc. The easiest solution presented on most places seems to be to acquire a GH:WT drumkit and plug the midi out from the Yamaha into the GH:WT brain.
The thing is, GH:WT kits seem to be pretty hard to get hold of now that the game's been out for a while, and lots of people report problems with the drums not working (don't know if this is just of the pads or the brain).
The Band Hero instruments claim to be "based on" the GH5 instruments (which, in turn, were based on GH:WT), but does the BH drumkit still support easily plugging in an external drumkit as GH:WT did?
Thanks for any information. |

Yes they do, but currently (at least in the US), the Band Hero drumkits are only available for the Wii. _________________ WARNING: Our group is not a friend of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (G.A.S.) Anonymous.

OK, but if you do get a hold of a Band Hero drumkit, this is a much better solution since the control/midi (in and out) unit is easily detached from the drumpads. With the GH/WT version you have to either, handle the "extra" drumpads, or, make a surgical operation to remove them from the control unit as described by the Doc.
Here (Sweden) Xbox and PS3 versions have been out since december (at least). |

| I tested for these Band Hero kits on the 360 and oddly enough they havnt been released yet. The best aspect of the Band Hero kit is the detachable brain. You can even use the brain as a 360 controller but you dont have the triggers or bumpers so it would only be practical for games that dont use those triggers. The brain is an excellent replacement to the GHWT drum brain. |

Today I've successfully tried this setup:
Roland TD-3 -> Band Hero drum controller for PS2/3 -> PS2 -> GHWT game.
It was a lot of fun! |
