Hey Gang!
It’s been almost four months since we released a full album as Rock Band DLC, and what better way to mark the return to albums than with the highly requested Rust In Peace from metal legends Megadeth! Rust In Peace joins Peace Sells... But Who’s Buying in the RB library, making Megadeth one of only two bands with more than one full album available for download. It's the perfect way to get ready to see Megadeth on their March tour across the US to celebrate the album's 20th anniversary!

Here’s what Megadeth’s front man Dave Mustaine had to say about this epic release: "This record is one of my favorites from my catalogue, and you will see the twists and turns that make Rust In Peace the quintessential Thrashterpiece that it is!" So shredders delight! Drummers, start stretching those calves! Wailers, clear your throats! Here are the tracks that will be tormenting you next week:

    * "Holy Wars… The Punishment Due"
    * "Hangar 18"
    * "Take No Prisoners"
    * "Five Magics"
    * "Poison Was the Cure"
    * "Lucretia"
    * "Tornado of Souls"
    * "Dawn Patrol"
    * "Rust In Peace... Polaris"

And if Tuesday still seems like too long to wait for new DLC, be sure to keep your eyes on the Rock Band Store this weekend. With The Who performing at a rather notable sporting event this Sunday, you may see some unique DLC pop up to commemorate this historic event! That’s two DLC updates in the course of 3 days! Keep posted to RockBand.com and the Rock Band Store for more details!

Congrats, those who wanted more Megadeth! I actually don't know what songs I'm planning on getting, but I'll probably get the S-Mashup at the very least.

Still: EPIC WEEK. Sit down, hatazzzzz...

...okay, I'll stop talking like that now.

Wait, what? I thought the Rust in Peace 20th Anniversary Tour was Megadeth, Testament, and Exodus. Where did Slayer come from? Shocked

The American Carnage tour was supposed to have started in mid-January. However, Tom from Slayer had to go in for back surgery so they had to cancel and reschedule. I was supposed to see them Jan 19th here in Portland. They just rescheduled that one for September 4th.

The 20th RIP tour either came about because of that cancellation or was supposed to start later in the spring or in the summer. I'm sure there are full tour dates on Roadrunner's site, seems to me that is where I got them. They might have the reschedules up, you could probably go see Megadeth twice in one year if you wanted.

Edit : Found the dates.

The mighty Megadeth will join forces with Testament and Exodus for a month-long jaunt that will find these thrash titans crisscrossing the nation on the ‘Rust in Peace’ twentieth anniversary tour. These will be incredibly special shows that will delight Megadeth fans, as the band will be playing their landmark, genre-defining album, 1990’s Rust in Peace, in its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth set list favorites.

Megadeth’s latest, ENDGAME, was released in September 2009 and received some of the highest critical accolades of the band’s career. The band performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and was nominated for yet another Grammy – the eighth nomination of their storied career- for “Head Crusher.” Megadeth also enjoyed heaps of praise in the press, from outlets as varied as New York to Revolver to VH1’s “That Metal Show” to PopMatters. With ENDGAME, Megadeth have once again ascended to the top of the metal world.

The tour will kick off on March 1 in Spokane, WA and will run through the end of the month. The dates are as follows, with tickets going on sale this Friday, January 29. Check here for more ticket info.

3/1 - Spokane, WA - Knitting Factory
3/2 - Boise, ID - Knitting Factory

Holy Wars, Hangar 18, and Rust in Peace...Polaris are definitely in for me, the rest eh, I'll think about it. I'll have to hear the Who medley before I make up my mind on that one.

Dawn Patrol is, well, a really slow boring song that will be like tier 2(3?) on bass, tier 1 on drums, guitar is No Part (IIRC), and vocals is a tossup.

If I didnt have 2 shows coming up in march Id go to the 3-21 and 3-23 shows as they are both 2 hours from the house but funds are going to to be super tight in March.
